Typhoid Vaccination

What is Typhoid?

Typhoid fever is a serious infection caused by a bacterial infection that can spread easily and affect your entire body, including vital organs. The bacterium that causes typhoid fever is called Salmonella typhi, which is similar to the germs that cause food poisoning.

You can get typhoid fever by eating or drinking something that has even a small amount of contaminated waste mixed in. If not treated quickly, typhoid fever can lead to serious health problems and may even be life-threatening, so it’s really important to take steps to keep yourself safe.

Boosters: The typhoid vaccine protects you for three years. After that, if you plan to travel to a place where typhoid is common, you will need a booster shot.

Side effects: Some people may experience side effects from the vaccine, such as a fever, soreness where the injection was given, or digestive issues. The vaccine is safe for children over the age of two.
