How Can Orion Pharmacy Help You Manage Your Asthma?

At Orion Pharmacy in Purley, our pharmacists are here to offer you free, personalised advice on how to manage your asthma. Asthma is a common lung condition that makes it hard to breathe because of swelling in the airways. It’s an ongoing illness that often needs regular treatment with medications like inhalers and allergy medicines.

Right now, over 25 million people in the UK have asthma, and it can be very serious if not treated quickly. Asthma can start in both children and adults at any age. The good news is that there are many medicines available to help you prevent, manage, and treat asthma attacks, so you can lead an active and healthy life. If you’d like advice on the different treatments available, or to discuss your current medication we’re happy to help.

How You Can Help Manage Your Symptoms

While asthama is a chronic condition, there are things you can do each day to help reduce your symptoms:

  • Use your inhaler properly to ensure you get the best results. Always bring your reliever inhaler with you and take your preventative inhaler as it is prescribed.
  • Avoid triggers as much as is possible.
  • Take all allergy tablets and inhalers as directed by your healthcare team.
